Filling CO2 Bottles
You will need a CO2 bulk tank from a gas supplier like BOC, a CO2 fill station and your Co2 paintball tank.
Recommend scales also.
Follow these steps:
Refrigerate your CO2 paintball tank before filling it to avoid fluctuations in pressure due to temperature differences
Firmly attach the fill station to your BOC liquid withdrawal CO2 tank
Attach the paintball Co2 tank to the fill station and rotate the knob to depress the pin valve
Close off the 2 taps on the fill station
Open up the BOC valve
Open the tap closes to the BOC bottle
Let the Co2 into your tank till it fills,
Close off the fill station tap
Unwind the knob that is pressing down on the pin valve
Open up the tap closest to you bottle this will bled out the air in the hose
Unscrew you paintball tank
Recommend
Always weigh the bottle when completely empty (not after chilling.)
Weigh your bottle after filling.
Never fill your bottle over the recommended weight.
Be Aware
A bottle cannot be accurately filled without the use of a scale to determine weight (you cannot determine the fill by listening, counting etc.).
Do not use non DOT approved bottles or valves.
Do not use bottles which show any signs of cracks, defects, etc.
If your burst disk (located on the valve) shows any signs of leakage, it must be replaced immediately.
The burst disk is a safety precaution on the bottle which bursts, allowing CO2 to escape if the pressure becomes to great.
The replacement of this disk and washer must be done by an experienced person. Also inspect the valve regularly to ensure the valve is not loosening from the CO2 bottle.
If you ever have doubt never fill the bottle in question and seek out an experienced person to inspect and carry out the repairs with the right parts.
